Lucy Hargreaves – People and Development Manager

Lucy is responsible for the leadership of gunnercooke’s people and culture strategy; finding ways to engage and connect our lawyers with our brand values and with each other. She oversees gunnercooke’s new starter induction programmes, buddy systems and our active internal events programme. Additionally, Lucy is responsible for co-ordinating the Development Office, which offers business coaching, personal and group development to our lawyers across a broad range of topics, from trusted advisor training to negotiation skills and networking. Lucy is heavily involved with inspire*, gunnercooke’s social business, looking at ways to connect our lawyers and our network with charities and their causes.

Key aims and objectives

  • To make a new team member’s transition to gunnercooke as easy, personal, professional and exciting as possible
  • To look at innovative ways to connect gunnercooke’s team, including events and social media
  • To deliver an internal communications strategy, that connects and inspires out team with the gunnercooke brand
  • To provide a training infrastructure through the Development Office that helps our lawyers to maximise their business’ potential

Current projects

  • Re-development of the firm’s behavioural handbook and toolkit
  • Design of personal development plans to roll out to partners with an aim to support them in their business objectives and personal goals
  • To cultivate and maintain the brand of our social business, inspire*. Including delivery of a regular communications and events programme for all stakeholders
