Susie has considerable experience in advising a wide range of public and private clients, comprising multi-national and FTSE 100 companies as well as SME’s and individuals. Such experience has encompassed a variety of sectors including transport, retail, education, construction, health and charities.  She consistently gains the trust of clients through delivering bespoke, practical advice, demonstrating outstanding technical knowledge and being approachable and commercially minded.  Susie is also experienced in providing technical and strategic advice on restructures, absence management, grievances and disciplinaries, restrictive covenant disputes and senior level exits strategies and settlement agreements.

Susie is a keen runner, passionate about art and art history and enjoys practising her languages.

  • Conducting a project on the Gig Economy and the impact of the decision in Aslam & Ors v Uber for a large Liverpool based private hire operator;
  • Successfully defending a number of high profile clients including NHS Foundation Trusts, logistics and transport providers and construction companies in the Employment Tribunal;
  • Advising on high profile and large scale collective redundancy exercises;
  • Being involved in the successful defence in the EAT of the principle that a limited company can pursue a discrimination claim (EAD Solicitors & Ors v Abrams);
  • Using technical knowledge, creativity and strategic thinking to secure high-level settlements for individuals on complex matters involving holiday pay, sickness absence, discrimination and whistleblowing;
  • Supplementing her legal and technical knowledge by becoming a lecturer at the University of Law, Manchester.
