Expertise

Dr. Uwe Henkenborg is a lawyer and Partner. He works mainly from the offices in Munich and Berlin.

His focus is on advising internationally active companies and entrepreneurs on transactions and projects. His practice focuses on international business law for companies based in Germany, the European Union, the United States and Japan. He accompanies entrepreneurs and companies internationally and builds bridges in the process.

His core areas of practice include IP (with a particular focus on trademark law), media and entertainment. Uwe has extensive expertise in all legal aspects related to intellectual property, licensing and media.

His experience covers a wide range of transactions. Among others, he has been involved in the negotiation and closing of mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs, corporate divestitures and restructurings. He has negotiated joint ventures and license agreements as well as franchise agreements and distribution agreements.

In keeping with the nature of his professional specialization, Uwe also works forensically. He represents clients in litigation before state courts and arbitration tribunals.

Advising on the related co-production contracts for marketing on TV.
Advising on the financing of a musical (including media funds) and documenting all contracts with the exception of real estate law.
Advising a company for the recording, collection and distribution of football match data on license agreements with the German Football League (“DFL”).
Development and implementation of media funds for feature films. Documentation of co-production contracts.
Advising a Dutch international universal bank on the defense of investor claims arising from media funds in Germany.
Litigation for a merchandising company in corporate law, copyright law, trademark law (“Die wilden Kerle”).
Advising and litigating on behalf of an international financial house regarding the worldwide marketing of film products.
Representation of a well-known film production company in copyright and corporate law disputes (“Simsalagrimm”).
Advising one of the largest publishing houses in Germany on the sale of parts of the company.
