Commercial and Commercial IT

Expertise

Nick has over 28 years’ experience advising public and private sector clients on complex commercial, IT and outsourcing transactions. He specialises in supporting organisations through the full lifecycle of technology projects, from procurement and contracting to implementation, compliance and ongoing supplier management.

In addition to his technology practice, Nick has developed a niche specialism in the logistics sector. He advises on complex, cross-border logistics arrangements for the exchange of post, parcels and freight, including agreements involving customs processes and international regulatory frameworks governing postal and freight movements. His work in this area often involves advising on international cooperation agreements, sector-specific regulation and operational contracting for logistics and delivery networks.

Nick’s clients include FTSE 100 companies, major financial institutions, telecoms operators, retailers, regulated utilities, logistics providers and public sector bodies. His work covers outsourcing, software development and licensing, cloud and SaaS agreements, digital transformation projects, and e-commerce and data protection compliance.

Nick’s experience also includes a number of successful client secondments, including with a leading UK telecoms company, a major mortgage lender, and as General Counsel for a start-up business process outsourcing (BPO) operation. These roles have given him valuable insight into the commercial and operational realities faced by in-house teams and the importance of delivering pragmatic, business-focused legal advice.
