Kai-Alexander Bischoff is an experienced lawyer specialising in commercial and corporate law, M&A and aviation law, and provides international advice primarily in the aviation, rail, automotive and truck sectors. Driven by his particular passion for aviation, he has built up extensive expertise in the aviation sector over the course of his career and is active in this field in both an advisory and litigation capacity.

With more than 25 years’ experience in legal consultancy as a lawyer, in-house counsel and general counsel, he combines legal expertise with a deep understanding of business contexts.

  • Litigation representation of a Swiss accident insurance company in recourse proceedings relating to an aviation accident in Russia.

Claims Management / Litigation

  • Enforcing claims in M&A disputes.
  • Managing a ten-year-long evidence preservation procedure involving three major players in the rail vehicle sector.
  • Regularly defending against or enforcing claims against customers and suppliers as part of the corporate claims management, with a success rate of 65%.

Crisis Management

  • Establishment of and active involvement in a consortium to rescue a systemically important, insolvent supplier.
  • Key point of contact for authorities (e.g. customs) and ad hoc representative for affected group companies during searches carried out in connection with criminal investigations.
