Real Estate & Real Estate Finance

Expertise

Ela is a commercial real estate and real estate finance lawyer. She acts for investors, developers, landlords and occupiers on the acquisition, development, letting and disposal of commercial property. Her work includes investment and development purchases, conditional contracts and options, commercial leases and licences on both the landlord and tenant side, asset and portfolio management, and the property aspects of corporate transactions, in particular the sale and purchase of property-holding companies. She has particular experience of mixed-use, residential development, student accommodation, hospitality and industrial assets.

In real estate finance, Ela acts for banks and specialist lenders on secured property lending, including development, bridging and term facilities, and on separate matters for borrowers raising that finance. Bridging is a significant part of her practice, and she is used to working to the short timetables that bridging lenders and their borrowers require. Her experience on the lender side means she is able to identify and resolve funding issues on a property transaction before they become obstacles to completion.
