“Net promoter Score (NPS) is a system used to measure the quality of service given to a client from their feedback. The score ranges from -100 to +100, a “positive” score or NPS above 0 is considered “good”, +50 is “Excellent,” and above 70 is considered “world class”.

Expertise

Geraint is a general commercial litigator with twenty years’ experience, of which thirteen are at partner level. The majority of his work is in the High Court and appellate courts. Two of his cases have reached the Supreme Court.

As well as his general commercial litigation practice, Geraint also has substantial experience in Real Estate disputes, in particular relating to contested lease renewals, dilapidations, easements, trespass, nuisance, and lease forfeiture. He also has considerable experience of interim and final injunctions to restrain forfeiture, trespass and nuisance in particular.

As a chartered, practising mediator, Geraint is a firm proponent of Alternative Dispute Resolution in order to achieve commercially beneficial outcomes.

Experience Highlights

Representative recent work includes:

  • Acting for a global multi-channel communications group in a High Court procurement challenge to the decision by a government body to award a £720m services contract to a competitor in alleged breach of public procurement legislation.
  • Co-acting for a client in an appeal to the Supreme Court on the point of whether the Respondents’ trade union representatives had a duty under collective bargaining legislation to take a poll of its members prior to rejecting a settlement offer in relation to an employee pay dispute.
  • Acting for a French multinational in a seven figure breach of contract dispute relating to the occupation and operation by the defendant licensee of a waste to energy site and the licensee’s obligations upon expiry of the licence. The case involved complex issues relating to the licensee’s proprietary rights and obligations, and OFGEM subsidies.
  • Acting for a commercial client against a so-called leading software implementation consultancy in a £15m damages claim arising out of its negligent implementation of a warehouse automation system.
  • Acting for a family owned business in urgent High Court injunctive proceedings to restrain forfeiture of the client’s lease where the breach of covenant contended for by the landlord did not subsist and/or the timeframe for remedy of the alleged breach was inadequate and unreasonable.
