Dr Guido Donath is an experienced lawyer in commercial law, specialising in intellectual property law, competition and unfair competition law, corporate law and data protection law. He brings more than 20 years of professional experience in various positions, including the university-sector and as in-house counsel for an international commercial enterprise.

His range of services extends from general advice, legal assessment and risk evaluation to support in registration procedures (e.g. for intellectual property rights (trademarks, designs) at national, international and EU level), monitoring and conducting proceedings before courts and other authorities.

The services also include the preparation and review of contracts (such as license agreements, delimitation /co-existence agreements, franchise agreements, sponsorship agreements, etc.), general terms and conditions (GTCs) or the preliminary review of planned advertising and marketing campaigns for various channels.

In addition to his work as a lawyer, Guido Donath has been teaching various areas of law at the MCI Management Center Innsbruck as a University Lecturer since 2010 and publishes regularly in his specialist areas.

  • Successfully representing a client in a trademark parody / infringement case before the General Court of the EU.
  • Advising a foreign IT-company on its expansion into the Austrian market (general terms and conditions, EULAs, corporate matters etc).
