Lukas Hackmann advises companies, entrepreneurs, shareholders and investors on corporate law matters and M&A and venture capital transactions.

He advises on domestic and cross-border acquisitions, investments, financing rounds and corporate restructurings. His work covers the entire transaction process, from structuring and legal due diligence through to the negotiation of transaction documents and completion.

A further focus of his practice is on joint ventures and M&A transactions in the real estate sector.

Before joining gunnercooke, Lukas spent several years at leading international law firms. Alongside his law degree, he studied business and economics and obtained a Master of Arts in Business (M.A.). His previous work included cross-border M&A transactions, private equity investments, venture capital financings, and major real estate and capital markets transactions.

Experience Highlights

  • Advising an Australian publicly listed testing, inspection and certification company on the cross-border acquisition of an internationally active German group comprising 17 companies across six jurisdictions, and on the subsequent sale of two German environmental and engineering consulting businesses to a financial investor and the management team.
  • Advising international private equity investors on the acquisition and disposal of German mid-sized companies across a range of sectors.
    Advising European and US venture capital investors on financing rounds involving German technology and growth companies, including legal due diligence and the negotiation of investment and shareholders’ agreements.
  • Advising a leading German PropTech company on a financing round and the related amendments to its financing documentation and capital structure.
  • Advising international investors on major real estate and corporate transactions, including majority investments, portfolio disposals and share deals.
  • Involvement in major capital markets transactions, including a EUR 2.1 billion rights issue by a leading German aviation group and the initial public offering of a German industrial company.
