Chloë has practised as an employment solicitor since 2007 and bring a significant amount of experience to her clients. Prior to qualification Chloë worked for a number of international corporates at their European bases working on corporate contracts.

Prior to qualification Chloë gained experience in defending NHS Trusts as part of equal pay class litigation. Following qualification, Chloë managed a large tribunal caseload where she developed advocacy expertise. During this time, Chloë used her experience she had gained in equal pay to defend and ultimately settle another class action brought against a local authority client.  Chloë has experience working in house; she was seconded to the in house legal team at Royal Mail for a four month period and has also worked on a specific project for a large online retailer for five months.

Chloë has supported corporate departments on acquisitions and disposals advising on sale and purchase agreements and TUPE liabilities.

In her previous role, Chloë was Head of Workplace Investigations and has developed a significant practice in managing complex workplace investigations for a variety of organisations including law firms, educational establishments and large corporate bodies.

Chloë also advises individuals including senior executives on exit strategies and associated areas.

Experience Highlights

  • Delivered clear and commercial TUPE advice to a bar and restaurant chain prior to a an acquisition;
  • Successful in her application to revoke a tribunal judgment of pregnancy discrimination at a reconsideration hearing thereby saving the client approximately £20,000 which had been awarded to the claimant as compensation;
  • Carried out a sensitive investigation into a complaint of sexual harassment against a senior partner at a law firm and made key recommendations to the Board;
  • Worked in house with an on line retailer where the work involved a thorough review of all HR polices and procedures with a number of recommendations for change, consultation and ultimately rolling out of new policies;
  • Acted for a commercial client in the defence of a holiday pay claim brought by a zero hours workers, which, if the claimant were successful, would have opened the door to a multitude of claims against it. The case proceeded to the Employment Appeal Tribunal and she successfully negotiated a settlement of this case;
  • Successful in a recent application to strike out a claim for unfair dismissal based on the lack of jurisdiction saving the client the significant costs of the matter proceeding to a further preliminary hearing and a potential multi day final hearing.
  • Advised several employees on individual grievances involving complex discrimination and whistleblowing allegations, and providing strategic advice on exit strategies;
  • Advised a senior executive on his departure from a large online retailer in the most tax efficient manner.
