Carl is an experienced lawyer specialising in trade mark and design law. He advises companies on protection strategies, trade mark filings, portfolio management, and the enforcement and defence of trade marks and designs before offices and courts – including proceedings before the General Court of the European Union.

Based in Alicante, in close proximity to the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), Carl regularly represents clients in both EU and international proceedings. He has particular expertise in complex opposition and cancellation matters, in negotiating coexistence and licence agreements, and in advising on the acquisition of trade mark rights.

Carl is a member of several expert committees at ECTA and INTA, is ranked in the WTR 1000, and is a regular speaker at conferences on European trade mark and design law.
