David is a highly experienced corporate and commercial solicitor with particular specialisms in the retail and leisure sector.

He has a very broad experience in transactional matters and has been involved in numerous merger and acquisition deals, and with his team, is adept at handling very complex transactions in a pragmatic commercial manner. Indeed, for one client in the leisure sector David has acted on over 23 acquisitions in the last 18 months involving on many occasions very short timescales.

David’s expertise in these areas naturally extends to drafting and advising on shareholders agreements, options, agency agreements, distribution agreements, supply agreements and the entire suite of company documentation. In addition, David has many years’ experience of advising on joint ventures and providing advice to LLP’s and partnerships.

David also has specific expertise in brand licensing and for many years was retained as a brand licensing expert by a very large multinational textile company.

In addition, David has a deep knowledge and experience of commercial property, particularly in the retail and leisure sector, and has for many years acted for both international and domestic developers in relation to primary mezzanine lending on large-scale property financing. This knowledge extends to Sharia-compliant and Islamic finance transactions.
