Katie is an experienced real estate lawyer advising on a wide range of real estate transactions with a particular focus on retail and commercial and residential development sectors, having acted on some of the largest regeneration projects the UK and Europe in recent years.

She has played a key part in teams advising several FTSE 100 companies and prior to joining gunnercooke headed up the residential development team working out of the Leeds office at Eversheds Sutherland.

Experience Highlights

  • Acting for Urban Splash on Wirral Waters, a joint venture with Peel Ports for the redevelopment of Wirral Dock and construction of 350 new modular homes — part of a larger £4.5 billion project to regenerate 18 million ft² of derelict space on the left bank of the River Mersey, the largest planning application ever submitted in the UK.
  • Acting for London Legacy Development Corporation on the £1.1 billion redevelopment of the East Bank at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The scheme included significant new infrastructure, including the Carpenters Land Bridge constructed over Carpenters Road, three Network Rail and two DLR lines to connect the East Bank and International Quarter London schemes. Occupiers of the East Bank scheme include the BBC, V&A, Sadler’s Wells and the University of the Arts.
  • Acting for Russell WBHO on the £400m South Heywood Masterplan. The plan includes the construction of a 120 acre logistics and manufacturing park providing 1.45 million ft² of new employment space, 1,000 new homes and involves the construction of a new 2.2km link road connecting the M62 motorway into the development.
  • Acting for a FTSE 100 housebuilder on strategic and immediate land acquisitions.
  • Acting for a FTSE 100 listed supermarket on a project to sell a portfolio of sites to drive-thru operators.
  • Acting for a PLC developer in connection with the pre-letting and forward funding of several retail and logistics schemes.
