Liz is a highly experienced property litigator, specialising in commercial landlord and tenant disputes, forfeiture and dilapidation claims, Landlord and Tenant Act disputes, and breach of restrictive covenant claims.

She has over 20 years’ experience in advising commercial landlords and tenants to find creative and sustainable resolutions to commercial property disputes and is experienced in leading on mediations and alternative forms of dispute management.

Liz has taught Property Law and Practice on the Legal Practice Course at Leeds Beckett University.

Liz is the current vice-chair of the Law Society’s Women Solicitors Network and a mentor with GROW mentoring trainee and junior solicitors.

  • Assisting in restructuring property portfolios for a retail landlord through development of an estate management strategy and co-ordinating more than fifty landlord and tenant Act lease renewals
  • Acting for property investors and developers to bring claims under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 to enable them to secure possession of a building and redevelop it into residential accommodation
  • Acting for a property developer in a claim against a local council for breach of covenant and negotiating a claim for compensation in respect of failure to maintain a stretch of riverbed
  • Assisted a large media group landlord to rationalise their entire and extensive property portfolio through the provision of commercial advice and service of relevant notices
  • Advising a FTSE 250 company on a claim against a commercial landlord for breach of covenant of quiet enjoyment due to the overrun of planned development work
