Family Law

Expertise

Lucina is a specialist Children Lawyer. She works with separated parents who have a disagreement with the other parent about an issue regarding their child, and want legal advice to help resolve it.

Parents come to Lucina for advice on the following the issues:

  • Arrangements for the children – who the child lives with, how they spend time with the other parent, education and other matters of parental responsibility.
  • Relocating with a child within the UK and overseas.
  • Abduction of a child overseas.
  • Financial provision for a child.

Lucina provides a bespoke, premium service to her clients in three ways:

  1. She is not a generalist family lawyer — she only practises children law. This means that her entire focus, experience, and expertise is in children law, and the value she offers her clients stems from being so niche. Children law is a subjective and nuanced area of law, and Lucina provides the human judgment and advice which is essential to navigate it.
  2. Lucina runs her own practice within gunnercooke, a platform firm that allows her to work differently from being in a traditional law firm. She only takes on a select number of clients at any one time, unlike lawyers at a traditional law firm who have a large caseload to manage. Lucina runs her cases and there is no delegation to a PA, secretary, or junior, meaning that my clients are in regular direct contact with her. This is invaluable during what can be a stressful and emotionally challenging time.
  3. Lucina brings a unique perspective: she has personal experience of the family justice system as a parent. Many lawyers do not. This insight enables her to support her clients with a genuine understanding of the practical and emotional challenges involved.

Lucina’s niche practice and the way in which she works means she is well-placed to advise affluent and high net worth individuals, who often face unique and complex challenges due to global mobility, lifestyle, and heightened privacy concerns.

Lucina’s international work is enhanced by her language skills. She speaks and reads French to an excellent level and has lived and worked in Paris; she is proficient in German, and competent at a basic level in Italian.
