Simon has a broad-ranging corporate and commercial practice specialising in all aspects of corporate, finance and commercial legal work. In the public company field, this includes advising companies and financial institutions on public takeovers, IPOs, reverse takeovers, fundraisings, rights issues and regulatory matters. In the private company field, he advises companies on transactional M&A, including business sale and purchases, joint ventures, some of which are a very substantial nature, as well as private equity transactions and fund formations.

Simon has also experience of project and financing transactions acting for both banks and corporates on their financing transactions. Simon has expertise in several areas and has advised clients in the chemicals and industrial, energy and minerals, technology, hotels and leisure, pharmaceutical and healthcare and financial sectors.

Simon regularly acts internationally for a range of domestic and international clients and, in recent years, he has advised on transactions in Western and Eastern Europe, U.S.A., Russia, Kazakhstan, the far East, West Africa and the Middle East.

  • Acted for Titan International, Inc. on its recommended public takeover of Titan Europe Plc, an AIM listed company for circa £250million enterprise value
  • Acted for Glendesk Overseas Limited on its acquisition of Rebootizer Group Plc a pan listed European company.
  • Acted for a US listed technology company in its proposed takeover of a £300 million listed company.
  • Acted in a number of AIM listings including Gasol, Loox, Spiritel and their subsequent acquisitions as part of a buy and build strategies.
  • Acted for EBRD on the disposal of its substantial shareholding in Russia’s largest ice cream manufacturer to Unilever
  • Acted for Nova Chemicals in its acquisition of chemical plants from Huntsman Corporation, Shell and the establishment of its stand-alone joint venture with BP and then Ineos.
  • Acted for numerous private companies with private equity investors, numerous financings and their subsequent exits.
  • Acting for a number of hotel owners with the purchase and sale of various hotels in the UK and worldwide.
