gunnercooke’s Scotland Real Estate team, led by Partners Simon Etchells and Rachel Dunn, has experienced a busy 2024, acting on deals worth over £250 million in capital deal value. The latest figure comes following a period of rapid growth for the team and its practice over the past three years.
The team comprises of Partners Simon Etchells and Rachel Dunn, Senior Associate Ruscar Ullah and Associate Morven Badger Finlayson.
Since the opening of gunnercooke’s first Scottish offices in Glasgow and Edinburgh in May 2021, the team has gone from strength to strength. Simon Etchells joined from Dentons, initially bringing one associate and a PA. Simon was joined by his long-time colleague Rachel Dunn as a partner in March 2022, completing the transition of his full team from Dentons. The team operates across both Scottish and English law, with 55-65% of its real estate work executed under English law.
At gunnercooke the team has developed a busy practice, now working with a range of high-profile clients, including The Martin Property Group, Stonehage Fleming, Chint Solar UK Management, Laings (Jeweller) Glasgow and Evelyn Partners.
Reflecting on the team’s success, Simon Etchells added: “It’s been an incredibly positive year for the team, marked by substantial growth in deal value and a significant expansion of our client base. These achievements are a testament to the dedication of our team members, and we are excited to continue building on this momentum going into 2025 and beyond.”
