gunnercooke shortlisted for culture at Manchester Legal Awards 2026

May 5, 2026

gunnercooke has been named a finalist in two categories at this year’s Manchester Legal Awards: Corporate Culture and Wellbeing Champions of the Year and Private Client Team of the Year.

Organised by the Manchester Law Society, the awards celebrate legal excellence, talent, and achievement across the North West.

The firm has been recognised for its unique model, which empowers partners to design their own careers and scale their practices, as well as for its strong culture, global growth, and purpose-driven initiatives. These include over 150 annual events including The Symposium, and the work of the gunnercooke Foundation and House of Books & Friends, both of which focus on giving back to the local community.

This latest recognition adds to the firm’s growing list of accolades, with around 120 industry awards recognitions to date for both its work and its culture. gunnercooke continues to grow, with global expansion, key hires, and a new state-of-the-art office in central Manchester. The firm now has more than 600 advisors and over 48,000 clients worldwide.

Helen Rendle, Head of Community and Engagement, added: “Being recognised by the Manchester Legal Awards in this category is testament to the culture we have created at gunnercooke. Manchester is the home of the firm, and we recently moved into our new offices in Pall Mall as we invest further in the wellbeing of our people.”

Additionally, Partner Philippa Torkington and her team have been recognised for their outstanding work in the Private Client sector.

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 2 July at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel in Manchester.
