Formidium serves a wide range of funds, including venture capital (VC), private equity (PE), hedge funds, digital assets, SPVs, multi-strategy vehicles, real estate funds, and other alternative investment strategies. The planned acquisitions mark an important step in expanding the firm’s European presence in the flexible white label fund solutions.

gunnercooke is providing comprehensive legal support for Formidium’s European market entry, with Martin Liebi (Zurich) and Dr. Matthias Döring (Berlin), both partners specialising in commercial, corporate, and M&A matters, leading the team.

They are supported by a multidisciplinary team of gunnercooke lawyers including Dr Karsten Umnuss, Employment and Pensions Partner, Michael Dietz, Banking Partner, and Dr Christoph Dally, Partner focusing on competition and antitrust. The legal team is supplemented by a local law firm in Luxembourg.

Spokesperson from Formidum said: “Our expansion into Europe reflects Formidium’s long-term strategy of building a globally integrated fund services platform anchored in technology and regulatory depth. Liechtenstein and Luxembourg are strategically important jurisdictions, and these planned acquisitions strengthen our ability to support alternative asset managers with a unified operating framework across fund management, administration, compliance, and reporting.

We are pleased to be working with gunnercooke as we advance this next phase of our international growth.”

The transactions highlight Europe’s growing appeal for innovative fund structures and the increasing demand for flexible white-label solutions in the asset management sector.

gunnercooke Partner Martin Liebi commented:” We are delighted to support Formidium as it expands into Europe. Our advice on the planned acquisitions in Liechtenstein and Luxembourg ensures that all corporate and regulatory aspects are carefully managed.”

Dr. Matthias Döring from gunnercooke added: “Cross-border fund acquisitions require precise coordination across multiple jurisdictions. Our team is providing full legal support to help Formidium execute its European growth strategy smoothly and effectively.”
