gunnercooke brings the Wrap Up winter coat drive to the US for the first time 

Today gunnercooke, the leading global revenue-share law firm, has launched Wrap Up New York and Wrap Up Chicago, inviting contributions of gently used winter coats for all ages, as well as hats, scarves and gloves, throughout the month of November. Wrap Up, the winter coat drive founded by HandsOn London that began on the London Underground in 2011, has a single aim: to provide cold-weather items that go directly to people who struggle to keep warm during the winter months. 

gunnercooke has run Wrap Up collection points for the past 10 years, with its Partners and volunteers asking commuters for the coats they no longer wear. The campaign has since grown with the firm to Manchester and Berlin, and this year it crosses the Atlantic to the firm’s New York and Chicago offices. 

Wrap Up now runs in cities around the world. In London, last year’s 15th campaign brought together 1,230 volunteers to collect 14,171 warm coats for more than 80 charities. gunnercooke’s Berlin team alone collected almost 800 coats last year, more than four times as many as the year before. 

In Chicago, gunnercooke is the headline sponsor of Wrap Up Chicago, and its Chicago office will act as the primary donation spot, with flexible workspace company Workbox also hosting donation points at three of its workspaces. Every item collected in Chicago will go to Radical Generosity Chicago, a volunteer-powered nonprofit that supports people experiencing homelessness across the city. In New York, coats can be dropped off at gunnercooke’s office on Park Avenue South. 

Drop-off locations are open throughout November, starting November 2.

• Donations can also be made directly to Radical Generosity Chicago at qr.codes/7t25BW, or by scanning the QR code on Wrap Up Chicago posters.
