gunnercooke launches ‘Readiness Check’ tool to help lawyers considering a move to a fee share model

October 18, 2023

Setting up your own practice within a fee share model can be a daunting prospect. Many ask: ‘Am I ready? Will my clients join me? Will I have my own team? Where do I start?’

To help ambitious lawyers considering the next step, gunnercooke has launched a new ‘Readiness Check’ tool. A 15-question assessment around their working environment, client relationships and practice processes will help guide lawyers through the steps of setting up in a fee share.

The tool also provides bespoke feedback and guidance on the next steps professionals can take to ensure they are ready for their next big career move.

gunnercooke Co-Founder Sarah Goulbourne comments: “I’m pleased to announce the launch of our Readiness Check tool. Fee share models are attracting more and more lawyers every year, but one of the biggest barriers in joining a firm like ours is a lack of confidence in being able to transport a legal practice.

“Some candidates ask us how they know if they are ready to make the move and what steps they can take if they aren’t. This tool assesses areas such as client service and business development to help professionals consider what is involved in running their own practice, and the changes they can implement to make it happen.

“We see this as the first step for lawyers in setting up the practice they’ve always wanted.”
