A gunnercooke team of Real Estate Partners completed a £7.93m deal for AssetStone at MIPIM with the clients present at the close. The team consisted of Dan Whebell, Real Estate Finance Partner, Pavinder Boparai, Real Estate Senior Associate and Howard Ross, Commercial Real Estate Partner.
The team advised the lender client on a bridging transaction with a borrower based in the North West buying a substantial commercial property investment and refurbishment in Liverpool. The deal had a rollercoaster journey, including a significant property down-valuation, changes to the security structure and the Borrower’s solicitors’ firm being closed down by the SRA.
The team worked hard to purchase the main target asset out of administration whilst also securing second charges over four other real estate portfolio assets of the borrower.
AssetStone are a UK-based Real Estate Lender with a strong focus on Joint Venture, Senior Debt and Bridge funding. The team advised the lender’s Chief Investment Officer Tim Mycock.
