Experience Highlights

  • Represented a well-known listed retail and commercial bank, assisting with the development of a loan book from circa £60 million to £2.5 billion in a period of approximately 3 years and then upwards to £12 billion during the subsequent 3 years. The loans instructed acted on covered multiple sectors, including residential portfolio work, development, healthcare and hospitality and leisure.
  • Acted as the sole appointed solicitor of a bridging lender from inception to a total transaction value exceeding £150 million within 3 years, with transactions consisting of short-term bridging finance and development loan finance.
  • Worked with a client to establish a challenger bank following the grant of its banking licence, engaging in transactions between £1 million – £10 million, ranging from bridging to development finance. In the first year of operation, completed over 100 loans for this client, taking its current loan book to £100 million.
  • Led a team of solicitors acting for the UK arm of an international Bank on an LMA loan facility to assist with the acquisition of a real estate portfolio exceeding 50 properties.
  • Acted on behalf of an established bridging lender in respect of a development loan facility to assist with the acquisition of a city-based office building to be developed into 133 residential apartments with a GDV of £35 million;
  • Acted on the re-structuring of a landmark mixed-use building in Central London with a value exceeding £25 million, which included the disposal of developed residential units, a refinance incorporating an offshore corporate structure and acting on the letting of the commercial units.
