Reflections on 2021… and looking ahead to 2022

December 22, 2021

gunnercooke Co-Founder and Executive Chairman, Darryl Cooke, briefly looks at the firm’s success in 2021 and exciting developments for 2022:

“At gunnercooke the past two years have emphasised the importance of human connection and making sure our Partners are invested in, supported, and feel part of something greater.

We have a culture intentionally designed to make Partner happiness a priority. We will never compromise this, as it has been central to our success and resilience in the face of the pandemic.

“These aren’t just warm words. For 11 years we’ve been building an innovative law firm that truly does things differently. Challenging the status quo with our people, processes and products is in our DNA.

“66 new Partners joined gunnercooke in the past two years, proving that this entrepreneurial DNA and our culture makes us the firm of choice for lawyers and professionals looking to operate on their terms.

“We now also have seven offices, including new operations in Scotland and Germany.

“All of this has been made possible because of the drive, professionalism, and outlook of our team.

“Optimism is a force multiplier, and we carry that advantage into 2022.

“Next year we’ll continue our global expansion by opening offices in several countries, whilst remaining agile and ‘local’ in our approach.

“Our charitable foundation is the very heart of our firm. Our goal is to help charities and NFPs to develop business ideas that create sustainable revenue generation opportunities.

“We’re also working with a number of high net worth individuals who want to make a difference by developing their own foundations.

“Loneliness is the gunnercooke foundations’ focus for 2022 and beyond. The pandemic has shone a light on this pernicious issue that eats away at health, wellbeing and the fabric of society. So, we’ll have some exciting news and national plans to help tackle this.

“Over the festive period, we are supporting our ‘inspire*’ charities including, Bumblebee Conservation Trust, Red Rubber Ball, Beacon Counselling, Coffee4Craig, Calm Connections, Invicta Academy, C3 Collaborating for Health and Creating Adventures. “For now, I wish you and your loved ones a wonderful festive period and a happy and successful new year.”
