The SRA is again under fire from the SDT for fundamental flaws in its investigation which resulted in the Tribunal finding no case to answer against solicitor Nabeel Sheikh on any charges. The SRA faced similar criticisms in relation to the quality of its investigation only a few months ago in the case of Denise Davies, which resulted in the dismissal of all but one relatively minor charge. The SRA has said they are reviewing the judgment and considering their next steps. It will be interesting to see how the SRA respond to this, especially given the expected focus on AML compliance amongst law firms.
