gunnercooke advises Bitwise Asset Management on BSOL, the number 1 ETF launch of 2025 by volume

Bitwise Asset Management has launched the first 100% spot SOL ETF, BSOL, supported by the crypto team at gunnercooke. This marks a major milestone in crypto finance, being the first U.S. spot ETF offering 100% direct exposure to Solana, with built-in staking for yield. The launch opens institutional access to Solana’s high-performance blockchain and staking rewards, signalling growing mainstream adoption. The fact that BSOL is the number 1 ETF launch of 2025 by volume shows the global acceptance and desire of both SOL as well as crypto assets in general.

The ETF has met with huge success, with the day of launch seeing inbound of USD 220,000,000, as well as over USD 50,000,000, making it the number one liquidity product against SSK and GSOL. 

gunnercooke’s role in launching the ETF was particularly with respect to assisting with setting up the staking infrastructure used for the ETF. The gunnercooke team was led by FinTech & Financial Services Partner James Burnie FRSA assisted by Holly Joseph.
