gunnercooke Partners ranked as Stand-Out Lawyers by Thomson Reuters

March 4, 2025

David Miller, Commercial Partner, and Helen Rooney, Dispute Resolution Partner, have been recognised as Stand-Out Lawyers in the 2025 Thomson Reuters survey.

David is a commercial lawyer with over 20 years of experience advising businesses across various industries. He specialises in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, terms and conditions, and guiding clients through data protection compliance.

Helen has spent over 18 years practicing in commercial litigation, handling complex disputes across contentious insolvency and intellectual property matters. Her expertise spans a wide range of high-stakes litigation, making her a trusted advisor to her clients.

What does it mean to be in the Thomson Reuters Stand-Out Lawyers?

Each year, as part of their Sharplegal study, Thomson Reuters surveys over 2,000 senior legal buyers worldwide, asking them to nominate up to three lawyers they have worked with in the past 12 months who have truly stood out. These client-nominated professionals earn the prestigious Stand-Out Lawyer title.

Beyond the nominations, the study goes deeper analysing what makes these lawyers exceptional, how satisfied they are with their firms, and what changes they believe could help the legal industry cultivate more standout professionals.

This recognition further reinforces the expertise of the gunnercooke team, who also have 83 award nods. It follows our latest success in the Chambers UK 2025 rankings, where six of our practice areas were ranked, alongside 30 individual lawyer recognitions, a 16% increase from the previous year.
