As an established leader in construction & engineering disputes at both domestic and international levels, her expertise in adjudication, litigation/disputes strategy, drafting, negotiating, arbitration and mediation has been key to securing optimal outcomes for her clients. Experience Highlights

  • Acting for a retirement village’s property owner across five sites in respect of latent defects, including fire stopping/compartmentation to advise on strategy and recovery of remedial costs.
  • Successful defence of an adjudication for a telecommunications company in respect of payment and purported walk-offs.
  • Successful defence of an adjudication for an educational charity in respect of an EOT.
  • Providing advice on a final account dispute for a developer against a contractor in administration.
  • Pre-disputes advice in respect of construction obligations at a new premises for a gym operator.
  • Acting as legal representative and advisor across several projects for a regional contractor to provide pre-disputes strategic advice and conduct adjudications.
  • Architect v Employer: acted for a firm of Architects in relation a fee dispute for additional works in the sum of approximately £100,000.
  • Acted for the Main Contractor in relation to a development sold to a housing association which has fire stopping defects, recovering losses suffered in remediating the defects from the sub-contractors.
  • Acted for a developer in relation to a call under a performance bond following the administration of the contractor. Settled through negotiation with the insurer paying out the entirety of the bond sum minus a nominal administration fee from the insurer.
  • Acted for an Architect and designer in a dispute over non-payment of fees and improper use of copyright in relation to a golf club, complicated by a related dispute between the golf club and local council.
  • Acted for a London Museum in relation to a dispute with their landlord over access rights during the conversion of the building and separately a dispute with their fit-out contractor over the Final Account and defective works.
  • Acted for a private individual in respect of a £5m claim against the professional team on her project. The build project was a luxury six bedroom, eight bathroom mansion with four car garage and one bedroom apartment on site, none of which was habitable. We secured a settlement out of court for our client.
  • Acted for landed gentry to defend a claim for unpaid works and counterclaim for defective works including faulty, and dangerous, chimney works, securing a successful outcome at mediation for our client.
  • Advised on the insolvency of a major, national furniture manufacturer and retailer for a creditor based in Vietnam, who was owed approximately USD$2.5m.
  • Acted for a renowned architectural designer in respect of a cross jurisdictional dispute over non-performance of a contract for a £1.5m staircase and breach of copyright for manufacturing imitation products. This matter involved UK arbitration and legal proceedings in the Italian courts with local assistance under the team’s direction and client instructions.
  • Acted for a private individual in respect of breach of contract and consumer regulations over a portrait she commissioned.
