She has over 30 years’ experience in the sector and has acted for a range of debt funds, institutional lenders and borrowers in relation to syndicated and bilateral investment and development loans.

Kim has extensive experience in tax driven and offshore structures as well as a range of real estate sectors including hotels, retail (high street and shopping centres), industrial portfolios, housebuilding, student accommodation and care and senior living accommodation.

Kim has acted for clients in compiling standard documents and has assisted in startup lending operations as well as advising established lenders on LMA and standard house style loan transactions.

  • Acting for housebuilders in relation to their loan facilities including:
    • Weston Homes in relation to their £200m accordion facility with a syndicate of banks (HSBC, Lloyds, Allied Irish Bank and Bank of Ireland) to fund over £1bn of new homes and the “green loan” financing of their head office development at Takeley with HSBC.
    • Lodha in relation to the funding of their developments at Holland Park Gate (a £400m scheme on the site of the Kensington Odeon) and 1 Grosvenor Square.
    • Hodson Developments in relation to funding for the site assembly and financing of the planning, infrastructure and development of the Chilmington Green site, a development of 5,750 homes, schools, retail and recreation facilities in Ashford, Kent.
  • Acting for a real estate loan fund in relation to loans in in excess of £50m each to fund portfolios of office premises and industrial assets.
  • Acting for clients in the hotel sector including:
    • Starboard Hotels in relation to various independent and branded hotels including Holiday Inn, Days Inn and Ibis hotels.
    • 4C Hotels in relation to acquisition and development funding for Easy hotels, Holiday Inn and Comfort Inn hotels.
    • Various lenders in relation to portfolio and individual hotel loans for Sheraton, Travelodge, Premier Inn, Hilton, Z hotels, Boutique own brand hotels/hostels and overseas hotels including France and the Middle East.
  • Acting for a high-net-worth family office in relation to the refinancing and subsequent sale of the residential property at 2 Rutland Gate Knightsbridge for £210m (the most expensive house sold in the UK at that time).
  • Acting for a Middle Eastern Bank in relation to various loans to finance hotels in the UK, France and the Middle East. HMO portfolios and student accommodation and high-end residential refurbishment with total loan value in excess of £150m.
  • Acting for a loan fund in relation to their standard documents and various loans and Joint venture arrangements in relation to senior and mezzanine development loans.
  • Acting for high street banks and private banks in relation to loans to finance serviced offices, care home premises and portfolios private rental portfolios, retail, warehousing and logistics premises.
