Her practice also covers more general commercial litigation work including breach of contract, debt claims and misrepresentation claims.

Experience Highlights

Group Action

  • Acted for the claimant group in a complex High Court group action against multiple defendants. Was part of a three-person core team involved throughout the litigation since proceedings were issued in 2019.

Jurisdiction Challenge

  • Acted for the modern art advisory consultant, TWIG Art, in a successful application to challenge the jurisdiction of the English court to hear claims alleging negligence and fraud.

Private Wealth

  • Guided a family through proceedings in the Court of Protection brought by the Office of the Public Guardian.

Trade Mark Litigation

  • Successfully obtained undertakings from a large retail company to stop selling a garment infringing our client’s design rights for one year and to donate all profits arising from the sale of the garment to charity.
  • Acted for an architect in terminating a contract between it and a hotel company following a breakdown in the relationship. Later drafted a pre-action letter when it became apparent that the hotel company was using the client’s name and branding without permission.
  • Successfully obtained undertakings from a company selling backpacks in breach of section 10(2) of the Trade Mark Act Trade Marks Act 1994 (TMA).

Other Commercial Litigation

  • Public Institution For Social Security v Al Rajaan & Ors 2021 – defended a high value claim for dishonest assistance and knowing receipt of trust property.
  • Acted for a claimant in proceedings arising out of an acquisition by the Advinia Health Care Group (Advinia) of care homes formerly owned by BUPA, relating to allegations of breach of contract and misrepresentation.
  • Acted for a lender in proceedings against a borrower that failed to pay sums due under a legal charge, with the result that our client became entitled to enforce its security.
  • Guided a bank through a mediation involving a claim in negligence brought by a firm of solicitors.
  • Acted for a director of a company in liquidation in a claim commenced by liquidators against our client and four ex-colleagues.
