gunnercooke storms into 2024 with over 50 new hires

Leading international law firm gunnercooke is starting 2024 off strongly following its strong recruitment drive in the final quarter of 2023, welcoming 11 Partners, six Operating Partners, eight associates, 12 paralegals and 14 other support staff.

Just after celebrating the one-year anniversary of the launch of the gunnercooke US office, the team welcomed Ian Ratner and Cassandra Porsch as Partners. Ian joins gunnercooke as a Corporate Partner with over 30 years of experience as both a business leader and a practicing attorney. Cassandra is a Commercial Litigation Partner who has practiced in both state and federal court.

the gunnercooke Dispute Resolution team has also been a key area of expansion, with Felix Thiede, Rohit Sanghvi and Jon Finebaum joining as Partners. Felix joins fast-growing gunnercooke Germany with commercial litigation and arbitration experience. Rohit and Jon join the London office, with Rohit having over 40 years of experience.

The Real Estate team added Partners Chris Crystal and Numan Sultan. Chris joins as a Real Estate Partner and has been ranked as a Leading Individual in the Legal 500 UK guide. Numan joins the firm as a Real Estate Finance Partner, joining gunnercooke from Shoosmiths, where he was Legal Director.

Partners Kim McMurray and Neil Williams join the London office, where Kim is a Banking & Real Estate Finance Partner and Neil acts as a Crime & Regulatory Partner. Kim has over 30 years of experience and has acted for a range of debt funds, institutional lenders and borrowers. Neil has over 20 years of experience in white collar crime cases involving individuals and corporates.

Joining in Scotland, Denise Laverty was appointed as a Family Partner. Denise is an accredited family law specialist and is dual qualified in both Scotland and England & Wales. Our Yorkshire hub has grown with Leah Hanson joining as a Private Client Partner. Leah is a highly experienced private client lawyer and member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Our Operating Partner group grew in the final quarter of 2023, with the addition of Dan Petrovic, Nigel Thomas, Maggie Sarfo, Peter Henry, Ian Bryson and Zeeshan Ashraf as Operating Partners and Rebecca Cooper joined as an Associate Operating Partner.
