This is the second edition in a mini-series giving you easily digestible 90-second leadership tips. We’ll share leadership skills from the very best business leaders in the world, show you how ultimate sportspeople innovate to achieve, and share ideas from entrepreneurs, innovators, politicians – even the odd military leader.

Leadership is everything. Time is of the essence. Lifelong learning is life-changing – but we will have fun as we do it.

What do you need to know about success?

Entrepreneurs and business leaders are uncompromising in their quest to build a successful business. They are driven by their vision – they have to be. The profit-driven model means without that drive they face extinction. Standing still is not sufficient.

As Jack Welch put it when growing General Electrics into the largest company in the world: “if you stand still, you watch your competitors pass you by”.

It takes years of dedication and unimaginable hard work, a stoic approach to overcoming obstacles and a relentless drive year on year on year to create a winning business.

All with a clear vision of what can be achieved. Muhammad Ali once said: “it isn’t the mountains ahead to climb that wear you out, it’s the pebble in your shoe”.

So, keep your focus. Stay away from small irritating issues that can distract you and stay focused on your vision. The bigger the better.
